I have never done any sound system before and know little about them. The RCA goes from the amp to the head unit? or from the sub to the head unit?
the PAC I have is for my RER headunit...it provides me with 2 RCA outputs so I can add an amp (ie sub amp, or 4ch amp)...I bought this adapter in case I want to add a 4ch amp later for my door speakers.

the adapter you have is for adding an iPod to your existing REC HU...it gives you the input to the HU so you can play the iPod through the stock setup. (I do not have one of these, but I am 99% that is what it does)

The RCA outputs (created by the PAC adapter) are run to the amps inputs...they give the sound to the amp, which in turn powers the sub. does that help at all? HAHA

Re: Stereo Install

I have a question, is a big mistake to go with a box thats slightly bigger than optimum specs? Im thinking of going with 2 SSA Icons 10's in a sealed prefab box but the box is slightly bigger (2.12 cu ft. when a single 10 requires .9 cu ft).

just saw your question Chuck...from what I remember there is some truth to more air space = more bass...but Matt explained it to me in detail you want to be as close to optimal as possible (I think he gave me the comparision of changing tire size/diameter on your car, want it to be as close as possible or you will need to recalibrate the odometer). Does the 2.12 cuft include the net displacement for the subs? If not, you may be right-on with the 2.12 as I believe my SSA Icon was a .1 or .2 cutf displacement (meaning I bought a 1.0 cuft box, and minus the .1 for the sub, it got me to optimal specs). And the space will in-turn change how you will set all of your amps controls (gains, LPF, bass boost etc). Hope that helps

Re: Stereo Install

Do you have a picture of the power wire going through the firewall? I took a quick look the other day and I didn't see a good spot to route it through. I'd appreciate it, Thanks!

Re: Stereo Install

While I don't have pictures of mine in progress (as it is done and didn't think of it at the time) I will post pictures of the fibre box that I built to spec of the JBL stealth box.

Will take some pictures of it installed (along with the amp and bass knob) and post. Tonnes of great sound (running a JBL sub) and no space lost
