Re: Stock sirius antenna?

ok....

sirius: the 21 foot cable is an antenna cable. I have the factory antenna, it plugs into the stock sirius box out back. I can plug that into the universal tuner, but between that and the BUS, they dont reach...

for the steering wheel controls, i have the top steering wheel interface control. How did you install the control? mine says it needs another module, am i missing a wiring diagram somewhere?

Re: Stock sirius antenna?

sirius:

i did not buy or make ANY cables. I just checked all my reciepts. a harness of some sort attached my sirius box in the back with my pioneer unit in the front. it either came wioth sirius or it came with the pioneer thing( i doubt this one),

from amazon: What's in the Box
SiriusConnect SCC1 Universal Vehicle Tuner (with mounting plate attached), Mini-magnetic antenna with 21 cable, tail cover and alcohol pad, SiriusConnect Interface Cable (Male/Male), Mounting screws (x4), manual

your saying the interface is very short?

apologies for the 21 foot cable thing.

there is one possibility. I bought my headunit used and MAYBE there was a wire like that in the box.........IDK because he gave me lots of stuff and i would think the PIoneer thing would have come with it. there is that SLIGHT chance.

Re: Stock sirius antenna?

what aother harness are you using?
tjhe PAC like i did
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...R-CHY4v1-.html

on the main harness page is this note:

The PAC C2R-CHY4 allows for the installation of an aftermarket radio in 2005-2009 Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge vehicles utilizing the CAN Bus data system. The C2R-CHY4 is packaged with both Chrysler harnesses for an all-in-one radio replacement solution. The interface provides a data controlled accessory output wire and all the necessary output wires for a navigation radio install. When retaining the use of the factory steering wheel controls, the C2R-CHY4 provides a SWC Output connector for direct plug and play connectivity to all SWI-modules (SWI-X, SWI-JACK, SWI-PS, SWI-ECL2).
Replacement interface harness for select Chrysler vehicles with CAN Bus
Compatible with amplified or non-amplified systems
No longer requires the use SWI-CAN Module to retain steering wheel controls Retain Accessory Power (RAP) 12V Output
VSS, illumination, parking brake and reverse trigger output
Digital amp turn-on

OR THE METRA?????????

the PAC CLEARLY SAYS you do not need another interface just the one you bought.

Re: Stock sirius antenna?

who knows if the metra even supports that. check details on the metra.

on the sirius:

i pulled up the trim on the front door side to see where the cable goes. about halfway along the side it does then head off under the carpet towards the center of the dash. i cant see any further unless i pull the glove box out. according to crutchfield, the cable that comes with sirius is 63 inches. still would be short for my setup best I can tell. so IDK.

Re: Stock sirius antenna?

ok back to the sirius problem...

this is frikin obnoxious, there is only ONE extension cable for this thing and its $50?? how the crap did you guys interface with your stock antenna and have enough wire to get to the head unit??

Rob, i dont think you follow what im saying. You keep talking about the 21 foot antenna wire in the kit, thats the aftermarket antenna, its not an extension. I want to use the stock antenna, a cable that has about 2 feet of play and terminates in the trunk.
