Uconnect and SXM

Hey guys I just got a 2014 Jeep SRT on Friday and it does not have Uconnect or SXM. I do have Bluetooth and Navigation. I was told that because it came from Hawaii (with only 2000 miles) that SXM isn't available there so it was deleted from the radio (makes very sense to me) Is there any way to have SXM and uconnect reinstalled? The dealership was very little help on the subject, and recommended I buy an entire new radio.

I was also told that once something is deleted it's gone permanently... Sounds weird because all it is is software. Nothing deleted is ever truly permanent... Or at a minimum it should be able to be reinstalled.

Dealership is correct... Regional radios are only shipped with the tuning components of that area. Units shipped to Canada are missing the cell cards and units shipped to areas without SXM have no SXM tuner. It actually does not have the physical components, so a radio replacement is required.

So what can we do to have sxm ? What should we buy ? Or do we need an extra software ?

You need an entire new radio. There is a misconception that the delete is software but as mentioned in my post, these radios are built without the physical components not needed in those regions.

No, it will work, you just have to add the antenna. I've been round and round with SRT customer support and the dealership on this.

Hey! Ok, so the dealership wanted $2,500 for the radio and $100 for the antenna. Additionally they have to do the install (they wouldn't quote a price) but said it could be another $2,000. So... I decided to install my old XM radio, mounted in the box below the touch screen... Ran the antenna through the firewall and installed in the front bumper. Works perfect and only cost me $50 to activate. I found that I would rather spend the money on long tube headers.
