Upgrading audio speakers, etc. in 2010 WK Ltd.

I am adding a JL 10w6v2 and am purchasing either an Infinity 1600a or JL 500/1v2 amp to drive the sub. Any feedback on the amp choices?

I have also added the kicker amp upgrade and am thinking about changing out the speakers to good level 2ways for the 3.5", 6x9 and 6.5's rather than the full range BA's that are installed now.

Has anyone changed out the speakers and used the kicker factory amp? How was it?

I may eventually look at rewiring but would like to avoid if possible and will get good sound.

good choice on the sub . i've been told the JL amps are overrated for the money. and for the speakers i love the sound of alpine. if you go alpine type-s just keep your kicker amp, if you go with alpine type-r i would upgrade the amp and it would sound innncredible. hope that helps

thanks for the help. I got a sweet deal on that JL amp from a buddy that bought it and decided it was too small and upgraded to a larger competition amp. Bought it for about the same as the Infinity would have cost. Plus I like it better when I can match speakers.

I have used Alpine and Infinity before and liked both. Was even thinking about keeping with JL for the speakers.

Anyone have any experience with JL for coaxial and how they are? I know I like their subs but haven't heard their speakers before.

Thanks for the input.

if you change out the amp for your door speakers there will be alot of work. you will have to rewire the entire jeep. you can keep the kicker amp you already have and upgrade to any speakers you like. just find somewhere that has the speakers you are looking at and listen to them and then decied for yourself. but give infinity a look, thats what i have. the new infinitys are also 2 ohms which will give you the most wattage out of your kicker amp.
