Upgrading my Speakers

So, I am trying to upgrade my factory speakers. I usually listen to just about everything but sometimes I like to bump the bass a little bit. My jeep is a 2006 WK.

The factory speakers are pretty good for bass but I just want a little more.

But, I don't want subs...I like to have room in the trunk and putting a sub back there would take up a lot.

So I was thinking of replacing the speakers all the way around and the head unit.

Was wondering if anybody had any recomendations on what and where to get some good speakers all the way around on my ride?

Thanks in advance guys!

don't apologize, you got some pretty solid suggestions didn't know if you saw them or not.

can't go wrong with these for the price http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107DB651/Polk-Audio-db651.html?tp=95

for the dash I've used http://www.crutchfield.com/p_136TR350CX/JL-Audio-TR350-CXi.html?tp=96

and http://www.crutchfield.com/p_065S35/Boston-Acoustics-S35.html?tp=96

I wouldn't buy speakers from crutchfield, but they have a lot of reviews you can browse.

Honestly with a decent head unit just about any aftermarket speaker will do just fine, but pay close attention to the power handling- Example: "power range: 2-30 watts RMS (60 watts peak power)".

Without an external amp, there is really no need for a high end 200 watt max or whatever type of speaker, it will most likely sound worse off head unit power than the cheaper but more appropriate speaker. good luck

I had mine in the rear doors and they sounded better than the infinity kappa 6.5's that were in the front doors. That was off head unit power, amped the kappas sound better.

I have components in the front doors but I would not hesitate to go with the polks all the way around if I went with a simpler cheaper setup.

Some people have found 6x9's that will fit in the front door which might be a good setup for you, give this thread a read http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php?t=17506
