I have several questions about wanting to upgrade my radio and adding a few more things to my 2010 grand cherokee. I have read soooo many pages but I am still confused. I would really appreciate some help. I have posted on other forums and received rude answers because I asked. Hopefully, that won't happen here.
I have the basic stock radio with satalite radio. It has the unconnect button but it is not hooked up.
I am wanting to upgrade to a touch screen and I would also like to add a back up camera.
I keep going back and forth between the ren and rer. I just can't decide if I want the nav. I have been reading some negative comments and wonder if just using my garmin when I need it will be better (and cheaper for me). Any suggestions? Also, should I get the lockpick? Is it worth it?
If I get the touch screen without the nav, I can still have the back up camera, correct? Will it be seen on the outside? Is there a specific camera I need? I would really like to stay with "factory" equipment.
I keep reading about a nav bezel? Do I need this too?
I want unconnect. I don't have the unconnect mirror that I have read about. When I get the new radio installed, can they just hook it up for me? Will I need any other extra parts?
I am also interested in the parking sensors (probably at a later date due to prices). My back bummer has 3 round spots where it looks like something else could go in there (maybe for the higher end models?) is that where the sensors would go? What would I need for that?
I have been looking on ebay and found both radios with better prices than the mopar website. If someone could tell me exactly what I need to add these items to my jeep, I would really appreciate it! I am sorry if these are "silly questions", I just have no idea what parts I need. I will be getting it professional installed but figured it would be cheaper if I purchased all the items/equipment/accessories rather than buying it all at the dealership. Thanks in advance for the help.
