Re: Upgrading speakers for starters

KICKER KS SERIES:
6x9s:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001467IJ0/...SIN=B001467IJ0

6.5s
http://www.millionbuy.com/kik08ks650.html

This would be a cheaper route but i dont think you will hear much difference between what you are looking at and these. So why not go a little bit cheaper? (i have the tweeters $40 shipped)

Keep in mine, the Mopar/Kicker speakers don't require any cutting of wires and crimping of new connections. Just an FYI.

It's probably cheaper/better to get them from Sonicelectronix .... they are an authorized dealer and have free shipping on (I think) all Kicker products. Those speakers for sure.

Re: Upgrading speakers for starters

yeah i will NEVER buy stereo equipment from the store unless its on sale. Online shopping is def. best for stereos.

Re: Upgrading speakers for starters

Most 6X9 probably wont fit, they are typically made with large magnets and baskets for high power.

The Kicker upgrade fit, but require a 1/4" spacer which comes with the speakers.

Anyway...are people really happy with these? I just installed my front kit. The kickers do not have the same lows. The 2 way fronts are not very vibrant. Considering the 30 minutes and $150 I spent, I should have just left the factory speakers alone.

I always thought that the high volume distortion was caused because of the speakers. In reality its the Head unit.
Maybe its because I have the basic CD player with no MP3. Hopefully soon I will get an aftermarket head unit and maybe then I will get a better sound.

Re: Upgrading speakers for starters

U have to play with the eq to get them to sound good ... I thought the kickers sounded 10 times better and u have to adjust it by using the volumer knob you go up 2 numbers in volume then rapidly go down 2 numbers and u will see the sound adjustment and difference
