VDP Sound Bar,,,, Epic Fail

My 1999 Soft top TJ with factory sound system needed upgrades,, so I bought a VDP 6 speaker sound bar, 2 4x6 dash speakers and Kenwood stereo and truth be told I should have left the blown OEM speakers in. The sound is so thin I can barely listen to it. I'm thinking about adding a Kicker Sealed Sub/Amp in the "trunk".. Additional cost about $300.00 installed. Think it will help???
