Volume Bass & Treble Control

Just bought a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee this afternoon. I am going through the instrument panel and everything else. What I have not been able to figure out is how to change the factory settings for bass and treble. The factory setting is too bassy. Dealership now closed for weekend.

This is the first Jeep I have ever owned.

Thanks for any help.

Jtoto

Re: Volume Bass & Treble Control

On the right side of the radio display screen there's a button icon marked audio. From there you can adjust speaker balance/fade, speed compensated volume, surround sound mode and tone controls with equalizer style slider bars.

This can also be accessed through the controls button icon along the bottom of the screen. From there you go to settings, then scroll down the list to audio.

When in this display you may adjust the Balance and
Fade settings.
• Equalizer
When in this display you may adjust the Bass, Mid and Treble settings. Adjust the settings with the + and – setting soft-keys or by selecting any point on the scale between the “+” and “–” soft-keys. Then touch the back arrow soft-key.

Re: Volume Bass & Treble Control

Everyone's preference is different when it comes to sound. I find that using the speed adjusted volume makes it sound a lot better.

Re: Volume Bass & Treble Control

I have that set too, no manner of available adjustments can help that subwoofer though, it's pure uncontrolled boomy trash.

LOL... you haven't heard uncontrolled boomy trash until you listen to a factory Honda Accord system.

Re: Volume Bass & Treble Control

The sub I have for my home theatre was super boomy and uncontrolled, it shook the walls and had peaks all over the place.
They (Paradigm) have a kit for it called Perfect Bass Kit, that allows you to plug in a supplied microphone set up in several positions, plug into a computer to take readings from all positions, then it reprograms the subwoofer and you get this nice tight accurate response.

Here is the results I got first time I used it.

Red is what is was doing, and Purple is the result after tweaks. Pity you can't do this with our systems, or even better, they are done before the car is sent out.
