Question What do I need for stereo setup?

I have a good friend who has installed many stereos before, just not on a newer Jeep.

I'm curious what will I need. I currently have.

Alpine 15" Type R (1500W)
Alpine V12 MRV-1002
Box

Now I know I need a FULL wiring kit, I was looking at stinger kits, are they worth it, or could I go with something else, I will be using 4 gauge.

Also is there anything I need to connect it to my factory REC Nav/CD Player

Ummm yeah, thats about it. Please tell me EVERYTHING I need.

Matt and Brad and Nate, Im looking at you three bros!

Re: What do I need for stereo setup?

Im not sure about what kinda harness / LOC you will need to get RCA's to your amp, but for a 4ga kit I can recommend this one..

Matt actually linked me to it, and so I got it and damn it's nice. True 4ga too.. not an over coated 8ga. Came with power, ground, fuse, rca, remote wire, all connectors and wire ties you need. You can't beat the price on it either, I just installed mine this weekend and love it!

I can vouch for that install kit, as I have the same one. It's good stuff and arrived in like 2 days.

Re: What do I need for stereo setup?

out of those brands Ive used stinger, kicker and rockford fosgate. They all performed the same but I think rockford fosgate cost the most.

Re: What do I need for stereo setup?

i usually just use what my local audio shop sells by the foot. This time they had jl audio wire, I used that for my power wire and I had some rockford fosgate wires that I used on my sub.

Re: What do I need for stereo setup?

The local shop recommended Stinger to use.

They recommended this kit

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Stinger-4-Gauge-A...3#ht_792wt_928

However, this kit is worth more, but I think is the better model. I Think

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Stinger-4-Gauge-1...b#ht_774wt_958

Which one would be my best bet to buy, I wanna be able to buy EVERYTHING in one package

Re: What do I need for stereo setup?

the second one is for a 4 channel amp, look at the rca cable. It has 4 connects on each side. I would go with the first one if I were you. I found it here with free shipping http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...er+SHK641.html

That ebay store is charging too much for shipping price.
