I have a good friend who has installed many stereos before, just not on a newer Jeep.

I'm curious what will I need. I currently have.

Alpine 15" Type R (1500W)
Alpine V12 MRV-1002
Box

Now I know I need a FULL wiring kit, I was looking at stinger kits, are they worth it, or could I go with something else, I will be using 4 gauge.

Also is there anything I need to connect it to my factory REC Nav/CD Player

Ummm yeah, thats about it. Please tell me EVERYTHING I need.

Matt and Brad and Nate, Im looking at you three bros!

Im not sure about what kinda harness / LOC you will need to get RCA's to your amp, but for a 4ga kit I can recommend this one..

Matt actually linked me to it, and so I got it and damn it's nice. True 4ga too.. not an over coated 8ga. Came with power, ground, fuse, rca, remote wire, all connectors and wire ties you need. You can't beat the price on it either, I just installed mine this weekend and love it!

Don't ever ask them for any help for anything. :D :slapfight: :p

Thanks but no thanks bro

I want to make sure I get really good named wiring.

My next question, out of the brands, which wiring should I get

bassworx
stinger
alpine
kicker
rockford fosgate
monster
KnuKonceptz

The local shop recommended Stinger to use.
Probably because they sell Stinger

Dude don't knock that KnuKonceptz kit.. it's the shit! My last system I was a dummy and got a $80 kicker wire kit and this thing actually looks / feels better.. Get the KnuKonceptz kit and spend the extra $50 you just saved yourself on something else for the system!

power..check
ground..check
amp lead (comes in the RCA cable apparently)..check
speaker wire..check

sound like it man

yeah mott. i agree. hey chris, the wire for the amp lead. is that in the kit?

the guy that hooked my system up didnt even pull my head unit, he ran the high/low (instead of rca's) to some wiring inside the pillar between the driver and rear seat, and ran the remote wire to my fusebox.

Not really, it's a simple fix! 1x butt connector and some shrink wrap and your set :) hell Matt would have to verify but I would think you could even throw a inline fuse close to the remote connection if your worried about the wire / carpet catching fire or something again?

all i have to do is make sure i have a large enough gauge wire.
