wiring sub?

ok i just want to check something and get some input. i got a sub to wire into my jeep. Ill also be installing the kicker system (factory) but not the factory sub setup. im not a noob to wiring but i have never done a sub install.

so from what ive been told, i guess i need a line output converter to wire in near the factory kicker amp somewhere to go from the stock wires to my AMP? anybody got a write up showing this already they can link me to so i dont need to dig in piles of "sub" threads.

and yes i know about the sub powers and grounds, just need input on how to get the sub signal in since im using a stock head unit.

thanks!

btw heres a pic to entertain and yes the red on the sub box is the anodized paint from my engine thread.

Re: wiring sub?

Jon, I have a link in my sig that explains how to install a line output converter (LOC).

Let me know if you have any detailed questions and I should be able to help ya out!

Re: wiring sub?

That's the same box I had in mine! Looks awsome, but it was just a little too boomy for my taste. It's gonna be loud as chit!

Re: wiring sub?

Yeah, that thing is going to peak like hell. It'll be loud, but it's not going to dig extremly deep.

Re: wiring sub?

Have you thought about doing the PAC adapter instead of a LOC? I used one for mine and I love it...esp since it gives you two pairs or RCA's if I want to add another amp to my set-up later...
