Have an update on this. Since I'm going to be running signal only through RCA cables, there’s no need to hook up all the other speaker leads. I talked to an installer and they said they only thing we’ll need to hook up is power, ground, accessory, and dimmer which can call be tapped into after the factory harness plug. The only thing it will cost are the quick tap plastic things, no need for a full harness.

I have my RCAs picked out as well as my rear camera. With payday tomorrow, will probably bet those on order this weekend.

Now I just have to figure out what to do with my amps…

Re: WK Double Din stereo with external amplifiers?

Those are the only connections you will need. After i added my 4 channel and completley bypassed the factory amp. I only needed positive, ground, remote. I didnt even need a dimmer connection because the new alpine headunits dont accept one. they have a light sensor on the front and automatically dim which is nice because on some units during the day when you turn on your headlights you can barely see the radio. Also on some double dins you will also need a brake and ebrake connection. I know on my alpine i had to buy a spereate module because you couldnt just ground it off like some older headunits to allow setting change or video in motion.

For now you can get some self tapping metal screws and just screw them into the back of the smaller seat leaving some extra wire to allow what you will do next.
