Your Amp Location

Long story short - So I'm readying myself to replace my failing MyGig in my 13' Overland Summit.
I've got the Pioneer 8200nex, Maestro (and all adapters), stealthbox and JL amp.
So where are you guys hiding amps? It's nice these are getting smaller these days.I could mount it to the stealthbox, but I'd much rather have it hidden away. I think I've seen some people mount it under one of the front seats. I'm not seeing much luck under the rear seats.
This is purely for the stealthbox. I may as some point swap out the interiors and have to add another amp for that. But another day, another day..

Also how about in dash area? I imagine all these adapters & maestro wont fit the greatest.. Also have to see where to mount the GPS antenna.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
MacK

Re: Your Amp Location

I actually mounted mine underneath the rear passenger seat. I have to remove that part of the seat

Hmm... interesting. Can you elaborate a bit? I have my GC stripped now and in the middle of an install. Your amp was okay under the seat?

Re: Your Amp Location

Its on the right side. I has the most clearance. I used the rear 12 volt outlet for amp turn on the amp . I used the subwoofer wiring for my line level

Re: Your Amp Location

Sorry for the delay..
I ended up finding room underneath the driver side rear seat.
It's not actually mounted to the floor, but the seat keeps it wedged down. Power and remote wires were easily routed under carpet. Did have to unmount passenger front seat to help with that, but that was easy.
I can't locate my pics, so I will snap some tomorrow.
I am using the JL RD500 amp which seemed to fit perfectly.
I was shocked the lack of places to mount. I first looked at under the front seats, but didn't work out.
