Re: 00 grand cherokee awd problems? need help!

Did you look at the propeller shaft which comes out of the diff and goes to the T-case if it rotates?

Re: 00 grand cherokee awd problems? need help!

So that the propeller shaft turns means that the diff is ok. If the input yoke at the T-case turns as well, then the problem is 100% inside the T-case. The T-case goes into 4Lo for the rear wheels, but the fronts are not connected. So probably chain or an other internal component of the T-case.

I'm sorry it don't rotate when I spin the tire manually at all! But it does spin when I drive the jeep. I put it in 4 low and Shut jeep off and got out and spun tire and the front shaft does not spin at all

Ok, then its a different story, the problem is the front diff. Now you have to open it up to see what has happened there.

Re: 00 grand cherokee awd problems? need help!

I wonder if the new axles have something to do with your problem. Did you check if the axle rotates with the wheel? Did you compare the old axles and new ones to see if they where the same lenght?

Re: 00 grand cherokee awd problems? need help!

It all depends of what has happened. If they for example installed a too short axle which only protuded a bit inside the side gears inside the diff, it could have damaged the splines. But i would start opening up the diff and see what you find in there.

OK so I opened the diff and it looks like nothing is broke that I can see. And when I turn the front drive shaft the gears in the diff move but the tires don't
