04 4.7HO oil pressure switch, vs actual oil pressure

Is there any way to change parts out to get an actual reading of the oil pressure? Like, swap in an 02 Oil pressure sensor, and the gauge will read it fine, or swap sensor and (for me at least) 02 overland dash (i'm guessing with reprogrammed odo)

Or is there a good place to tap in for an oil pressure gauge?

Thx,
-Nick

Re: 04 4.7HO oil pressure switch, vs actual oil pressure

I wonder if this will be possible without too many modifications. The oil pressure switch only has one wire (one pin) going to the connector and the switch housing is the ground. I don't have the 1999-2004 manual with me now, but what i remember the pressure sensor has 3 pins. Not sure if the PCM will be exactly the same, because you need a 5V power supply (that is available), but also the PCM should receive the sensor signal.

Making voltage supplies ect is no problem. I'm an MECP master installer, lol. I just hope it's possible, because I Like keeping an eye on all the vitals if I can.

Thx!
