2002 GC blower motor resistor

My blower is running on high only. I understand the resistor and possible connector can go back quite often on these vehicles. I have looked all over the internet and have found different pictures and such and how to's . Why am I finding pictures of different resistors that all say for a 2002 GC? The instruction some say under the dash. Some say behind the glove box. some say toward the center underneath the dash. Some say to remove glove box do this or that and done of it matches up with my GC. Anyway with all that said mine is a 2002 GC special edition (if that makes a difference I doubt it) with a 4.0 L engine and manual temp control(none of the auto climate control stuff). I realize there is a difference between the two units as far as what they use. Can anybody post some pictures of what this thing looks like and where it is located and if the glove box has to come out how to remove it. From looking at my glove box it appears the stop is in the middle and 3 screws along the top edge that may come loose and the glove box drop down but man it looks to be a chore to try and hold the glove box back up in position and try to screw that piece back in. Anyway sorry to be long winded but I need some guidance real bad.

Re: 2002 GC blower motor resistor

Welcome to the garage.
No need to remove the glove box. When you look up from the passengers foot well area you will find the blower motor (mounted with 3 screws) and just besides it the blower motor resistor.
As far as i know there is only one type of resistor. Only for the jeeps with automatic zone control, there is a blower motor controller at the same place as your jeep has the resistor.
