I have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee 4.7 and when it heats up to 190f the power steering is hard to turn its fine when cold also i noticed at the bottom of the gear box there is a slight drip every once in a while nothing major I dont have the money to replace the pump and box right now if i use power steering fluid with stop leak in it so its thicker would this fix it for now?

I would not do this. The power steering fluid is also used for the hydraulic cooling fan unit and i won´t expect good results from a stop leak in this system. You don´t want to replace this hydraulic cooling fan unit, since its very expensive.

I'm using a local fabricated synthetic power steering fluid for years without any remarks.

The power sterring fluid is MS5931, if you search for it a few options pop up. I used Valvoline - Advanced Auto has it Part No. 602241.

Flushing it was a great idea. If the stuff you put in meets MS5931 specs you should be fine... if not pump may fail. Mine did, PO put wrong fluid in, pump started to leak, then ultimately needed replacement.

HTH,
Phil
