Hi guys,
I've been lurking on the site for a few years now and recently had to find a replacement for my 05 WK that was totaled. I picked up an 02 Limited with 68k from the original owner in florida for what I feel was a very good deal.
I've spent the last few days searching and have been able to find solutions to most of the problems I have such as the stripped gears in all of the vertical seat motors.
I have a couple concerns still that I was hoping to confirm before bringing it to a shop. The oil pressure gauge no matter what always stays right at the 3/4 mark which I believe would be 60 psi. My gauge does not have numbers which I have heard may mean it is effectively an idiot light. if thats the case I'm not too worried about it but if not I feel like thats way too high especially when the car is parked and idling.
The second question is one that I know has been discussed and I apologize if its been covered many times and I was too dumb to find it. I plan on getting larger tires which I believe allows me to go to a 30.5'' (245.70/17) tire safely. My question is if I add 1.5'' spacers will I be able to fit a larger tire.. or have to go with a smaller one? I vaguely understand the concept of backspacing but this is the first time I have ever modified a 4x4 of any kind. I usually stick to old bmws that can barely clear a speed bump. I will not be doing any sort of crazy off roading, just some light trails and a lot of beach driving which can have some deepish ruts from time to time.
Thanks in advance for your help!
