2003 Grand Cherokee Limited Power seat motor

Hey guys, i need to replace my passenger side power seat motor for the motor that goes back and forth. the power recline works just fine. is there a special motor that i need since i have heated seats? if so would you guys happen to know what part number i need so that i can get the correct motor? dont really want the track too, just the motor if possible. thank you!

Re: 2003 Grand Cherokee Limited Power seat motor

As far as i know there is no difference in the power seat motors between heated and non heated seats. Are you sure the motor itself is bad and not the switch/wiring or that the track is dry/dirty, creating too much drag?

when i first got the jeep it worked slightly, moving back forward and backwards but slowly. i cant see any obstruction in the track, and i know the switch itself works because it worked when i bought it. (didnt work well but it worked)

Is there not a slight sound or movement when you actuate the switch? Many times some lubrication (WD40) will do wonders.

Re: 2003 Grand Cherokee Limited Power seat motor

I would try the lubrication first before buying the motor. You could remove the motor and see if the seat itself will move or not.

I dont have the time or know how to remove the seat and or motor. i did check the track and did not see anything obstructing it. i also pushed forward on the seat while pushing the forward button and it would not move
