2004 GC Grill Removal

I want to remove my grill from my 2004 GC so I can paint it; I'm not exactly sure how to release the clips, I looked on WJJeeps and it just said use a trim stick to remove the five upper retaining slips and then roll forward.

I only see four light gray clips, do you push them up or down to release and where is the fifth one? Hopefully, someone who has done it can let me know. I'm sure I could get it off, but I don't want to break anything doing it the wrong way.

I assume once it's off then the silver inset part can be removed from the colored part, that seems to be shown a little more clearly on the WJJeeps site.

Thanks,

Peter

Re: 2004 GC Grill Removal

I took my GCL grill out and apart a few years ago. Everything came apart without any problem. I painted the silver insert with flat Rustoleum paint, and it is still in good condition.
