2008 Dakota 4.7

I'm fairly certain that a 2008 Dakota 4.7 is pretty much no help to any of us with a ratched 99-00 4.7,but I thought I'd throw it out to the experts here. There is one for sale local for a good price, its just not gonna work anyway in an older Jeep,is it?

Re: 2008 Dakota 4.7

id assume the short block is all the same, you will probably just have to swap all the accesories and intake from your wj to the new motor

Indeed it is and it's drive by wire. Here's a link to the specs > http://www.allpar.com/trucks/dakota-2008.html

Re: 2008 Dakota 4.7

I figured so,I have found a 4.7 in a 2002 Dodge 1500 for a good price how difficult will that swap be into a 99?High miles but not knocking or smoking, would it be worthwhile dropping the pan and spinning in new bearings,or best to just leave it alone?
