Re: 4.7L HO owners

There are multiple modifiers of idle speed, AC usage, coolant temp, etc etc. really low idle is usually IAC related. Add other things like TBs, small vacuum leaks, etc etc, not all WJs will idle the same.

Re: 4.7L HO owners

Looking at that cluster above reminds me of something I have always been curious of. This seems like the appropriate thread so I hope I am not jacking it.

But where does everybody's oil gauge sit at idle?

My 02 HO sits at 1/2 mark at idle once warm with 10/30 oil, and doesn't go up any high than 3/4 when up in the revs.

What about everybody else?

Re: 4.7L HO owners

I donīt know from which year they started, but on my 2004 WG there is no oil pressure sensor anymore, but just a low oil pressure switch. The indicator is still there, but it just goes to a fixed position as long as the pressure is not too low. I remember that there was something written about it at www.wjjeeps.com. (no time to look it up now, have to go to work)

Re: 4.7L HO owners

It seems to idle between 600 and 700 RPM will idle down to 500 at longer lights. The TB and related sensors need cleaned and I hope to do that today.

Still the same after the TB and IAT cleaning.

Re: 4.7L HO owners

Yeah, my idle didn't change after a cleaning either, but nothing was really dirty to begin with. THANKS GUYS!
