Adding an Aux trans cooler/oil cooler/ps cooler

I was thinking of possibly adding one or a couple extra coolers to my 04 overland.

Has anyone had any issues doing so, and what are your experiences.

Thx,
-Nick

You would have to make some adapters but here is an excellent source.

Making adapters shouldn't be a problem. Has anyone done this already for any of the fluid systems?

Thx,
-Nick

The power steering should already have a cooler out in front of the radiator/ac condenser I'm not sure if much would be gained by adding another. Adding a trans cooler would be beneficial if you plan on doing some towing, you could reroute the fluid coming out of the radiator to a cooler up front before it goes back to the transmission. I think cheapjeep was planning on adding a trans cooler.

Nah I have the tow package so I have all 3 already from the factory. I am considering a trans temp gauge though if I can find a place for it that doesn't look stupid.

Re: Adding an Aux trans cooler/oil cooler/ps cooler

I think that an extra trans cooler would be a good idea, because i red that by lowering the trans temp by 10 Deg C, the tranny life will increase a lot.
I was looking at my AC condenser and it seems that the PS cooler is an integral part of it. Could not find anything in the manual though.

Re: Adding an Aux trans cooler/oil cooler/ps cooler

I had a better look today at the AC condenser and indeed the upper 8 cooling rows are larger then the lower part, suggesting that they are used for the PS cooling and the lower smaller rows are for the AC condenser.
But i saw in the manual that there are separate PS coolers at some models as well.

Re: Adding an Aux trans cooler/oil cooler/ps cooler

I have the tow package as well, But, I am pondering on adding additional for added measure, and possible hybrid setups (air-water) just incase of severe heat/towing conditions.
