Air con not great in hot weather....

But it will blow chilled air till the outside temp gets very hot. It's just been regased, but I don't think they give a good service, couldn't tell me how much gas they put in. The machine does it all with no report. Performance still the same.
Any usual suspects I should look at, blocked evaporator with old leaves or blocked cabin matrix ? I understand our wj's don't have cabin filters as standard.

Thanks

Re: Air con not great in hot weather....

Is there a problem with the recirc door? It could be pulling in hot air all the time instead of cooling already cooled air.

It's had the blender doors replaced. But I could check the fault codes to be sure.

Re: Air con not great in hot weather....

Attached a list with the normal air temperature from the center air outlets at different outside temperatures and humidities. Is your cooling a lot of compared to these figures?

Re: Air con not great in hot weather....

Make sure your engine fan(s) are working. If you relay for the electric fans is bad (common problem) then you will not get air flow through the condenser in traffic/stopped conditions and have poor AC cooling. You could also try blowing out the radiator and condenser from back to front with compressed air. Sometimes dirt and debris get stuck in the vanes causing poor air flow/cooling.
