audio issue

I have looked at the threads, and I have not seen a defiant answer. here's the issue, I have no sound in the radio, I change the radio to a brand new one( old one was piece of crap) I have check all wiring behind the radio. all good. check the wire that all ways goes bad in the driver door ( it was just a shot in the dark). I cant find the amp.( if it has one) ive looked under the rear seats nothing, behind the rear cargo panels nothing. I don't know whats goin on. ive check the wiring diagrams I don't see a issue. if any one can help it would be awesome! thanks ahead...

Re: audio issue

Does the radio get power? If your jeep has the basic audio system, then it doesn´t have an amplifier.

Re: audio issue

Without knowing your model year, this is the best I can do when it comes to wiring diagrams. Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ - Stereo system wiring diagrams

Frank is right - the base system does not have an external amp.

If it is the upgraded system then the amp is under the rear seat on the driver's side of the vehicle.

There should be two power leads to the head unit no matter the version:
RED = switched power
YELLOW = constant power (used to store items in memory)

You can check each of those with a test light grounded to the body. You could also have a bad/broken/missing ground that is your problem.
