Brake pads shaking and metal noise - rattle.

Dear fellows,
Yesterday i replaced the brake pads, front and rear from my GC WJ, the front calipers are Akebono and the rear are the stock ones.
Since then, when driving in a irregular pavement, i can hear a loud noise coming from the brakes, metal noise, like spanish castaņolas.
It looks to me like the pads are lose, and shaking.
Is there a way to make it silence? If yes, could you please educate me in how to do it?
Best regards,
PW44

Re: Brake pads shaking and metal noise.

Did you compare the new pads with the old ones? I would recheck if the pads are mounted right or that you can see where the noise is coming from.

Re: Brake pads shaking and metal noise - rattle.

Hi,
Thanks for the answer. I did check again, and they are right, but some loose, making it rattle.
The front have some clips in the outer side, but could not find in the inner side.
The rear have a spring, but it seams having no effect...
Does someone knows where i can get good and sure anti rattle clips for the front and read calipers (akebono front and original teves rear)?
Did search but did not find where.
Best regards,
PW44

Re: Brake pads shaking and metal noise.

From the front brakes only one of the pads has the anti rattle clip per side, only don't remember which pad.

Re: Brake pads shaking and metal noise.

It should be the pad on the outside. ( the one towards the wheel) with the rattle clip. The back one is on the piston of the caliper and doesnt have a rattle clip

Re: Brake pads shaking and metal noise.

Fronts don't have the rattle spring. The outter rears have the spring. I just did brakes on mine and the stainless slides that came with the pads were gouging the rotor due to how close the rotor is to the pad/caliper carrier. I had to modify the slides to make it stop. Now I have nice cuts on the inside surface of my new rotors. Sounded like all Hell was breaking loose in there before I attended to the problem. Should have just wiped off the factory slides instead of replacing them with the new ones that came with the pads.
