Re: Change Headlights!

Get the eagle eye tails! They have a clear housing for the turn signals, just get a red LED bulb to put in!

i just tried to install my eagle eyes (from Revotec on eBay) and they wouldnt seem to work? it seems as if the plug would not go in far enough to make contact. it works if i turn the lights on, walk to the back, and hold the plug in really tight. turn signal does not work that way, and i still get hyperflash. did you have any problems?

On one side, it plugs in and works just fine, the red lock tab slides over and holds it together perfectly. The other side does just like you said. Actually, it worked fine for a while, even though it wouldn't lock. But after installing my LED backup lights, I was getting an intermittent signal, especially with the turn signal (the front would hyperflash like you said). What I did was use a little contact cleaner to clean them up, and then swabbed some dielectric grease on both plugs. I then pushed it together as tight as I could and it has been fine since. I love the looks of these tails but they do not seem to be designed very well from a functional standpoint. I also have one side that is held in only by 1 screw, I can't get both in.

Re: Change Headlights!

Is there any way to shave off some of the plastic around the plug so Tab A slides into Slot B a little further? Sounds like you already lubed it up...

Leave it up to my dirty mind....

I had Crystal Eyes tails on mine for awhile, and they were okay, but after seeing some stock ones sprayed, I had to go that route.

Re: Change Headlights!

well, ive got them installed and done d@mn near how they were intended to be done. I had some terminal cleaner, so i used some of that. didnt help much. didnt have any dielectric grease, but i noticed not all of the metal contact tabs in the Eagle Eye plugs were the same length. i took a pair of needle nose pliers and gently pulled them outward. there is a metal barb that holds the contact pin/tab away from the plastic. i gently bent the pin towards the barb and it held there. after that, i slightly bent the 3 pins in the same row away from the other two pins. i attempted to pug it in and VOILA! it went in all the way AND the tab closed, but only on one of them. the other one, i did the same procedure but the tab would not close. but it is held tight enough. however, i too have only one screw in one of them!

I like your tinted tails better than those crystal eyes for sure.

I noticed one pin is pushed in on mine, but I could not get it out any farther. If I have any more problems I will try what you did, for now its working and I'm afraid to touch it lol.

Tony seems like a bit of a perve :P lol jk

I honestly would be afraid to touch them too. for a minute i had my LED (3 on the side) blinking instead of the AMBER (temporary, my LED red ones are on order along with LED reverse and my HID low and fog kits) bulb. then the brake lights started flashing. idk what the problem was, but they work now. idk about the reverse. kinda hard to check that myself lol

If you're saying I'm a "bit of a perv"...then I'm clearly not doing my job. There should be no doubt that I'm a perv...hhahahha.
