few neewb questions from the uk

Hi,

Just got myself a 2001 grand cherokee, 4.0 engine.

It needs a good service so i have a few questions.

1 oil i understand it needs 5w30 but needs high zinc?

is this ok Halfords | Mobil Super 3000 X1 Formula FE 5W-30 Oil 5L

2 atf fluid i can get this which says it's mopar atf+4:
Halfords | Comma ATF & Power Steering Fluid 5L

3 i've found this 75w 140 gearbox oil which has limited slip additive alread added :
Castrol Syntrax Limited Slip 75W 140 (Formerly SAF-XJ 75w-140)
or i could just get this limited slip additive:
RED LINE Limited-Slip Differential Friction Modifier / Break-in Additive

Item 3

Thats the oil I put in my diff's, front and back.
However it dosnt say that it has a Jeep type additive in it already, just that its for limited slip diffs. That confussed me a bit to start.

So I googled this, and some owners of Jeeps using LSD synth oils were still adding a small qty of the jeep additive as well, about 50% of the recommended volume. Thats what i did and all's been well so far, when turning tight circles the tyres aint scrubbing across the tarmac !

Hope that helps

Re: few neewb questions from the uk

You only need the limited slip additive in the fluid when you have a vari lok inside the differential. ( quadra drive jeeps or with the factory tow package in the rear diff only)
The amount of limited slip additive should be just enough to prevent tire rub on the tarmac when making tight turns. The additive reduces the oxydation resistance of the fluid, so less is better. It is normally matter of testing, put a bit in and testdrive. Still tire rub, add a bit more.
