front driveshaft question on wj

do anyone know if a 99 limited driveshaft would work for a 03 limited? Or if a 04 Laredo would work for a 03?

Idk about for a Q.drive with the your 247.
But I would think in Quadra drive it would need to stay rezzepa. But I'm not positive...
However 242 Select T. you can swap them.
The years don't really matter the thing is their are several dif types of front Driveshafts. Rezzepa, double cardon etc.
In a 242 you could certainly swap one for another, dif year and dif type with a few mods... in fact I'm doing just that.
What was said in the other post makes a lot of sense with the q.drive I've heard there can only be a limited amount of difference in tire size or you can mess up the trans.
Your best bet would honestly be take it in for a diagnostic, could be a transmission issue.

Thx lol. & I just got a newly rebuilt transmission about a month ago. The previous owners removed the front driveshaft for unknown reasons.

Re: front driveshaft question on wj

I still have a year in a half on warranty, but didn't want to take it back to them because it took them over 30 days to put the transmission in. I was going to just go to the junkyard& get 1. But didn't know if I could only get it from a jeep with quad drive. Also thx & good luck with your project

It's sort of a cheapo way to convert it from quadra drive. Without the front ds It's basically full time 2wd. Which is probably a little better on gas or whatever. Or maybe it just messed up who knows.

I wouldn't, if I had a warranty and could get them to cover that, I definitely would.
There gonna take time warranty work obviously isn't one they want to do, no pay, and they have to pay mechanics. Usually the mechanics get played less for warranty work so they don't want it either.

You will not mess up the transmission in this case, but the T-case, and in particular the progressive coupler inside the T-case.
