For the HID's I think you should go with either 5000k or 6000k. I went with 5k/5k on my Lows and Fogs and I like them a lot!
For the License plate I didn't like the flat black look so I painted it to the color of my Jeep.
Are you looking for the Black Housing Headlamps? You can find them on eBay or car-part.com Just make sure you get the 03-04 Style Laredo Headlamps. Those are the ones that Hannes and I have.
I like em esp the wheel and grille choice. I completely understand about not being too flashy in the nyc streets. I've seen a srt on cinderblocks in brooklyn haha.
What are you doing with the wheels you have now? Those would look good on my jeep haha
just for shits and giggles this was my old 88 Cherokee. it hasnt hit the road since late 2005. behind it is a 89 wagoner i bought for parts when i use to have my 88 as a daily driver. it was in its prime in 2002 with dual exhaust and all that dress up stuff. i made my own chrome gril back in 1999 with using chrome door trim- lol hahaha. the good ol days. but it just sits at my parents house upstate. one day my dad will put a plow on it so i havent got rid of it. it will start with a jump-hhehe
Startech is the only company that sell these and they quite expensive - but IMO they're worth it.
Startech also sell interior wooden trim pieces you mentioned too which a guy over here bought for his WJ (I never seen any pics but he said they were very good quality as you'd expect from them).
found a guy from CHI TOWN with a set of 4. with ACTUAL pictures unlike everyone else on ebay. only cost is 400.. with shipping. not bad to me. im going to use my current tires and one of my closest friends is a mechanic with a shop so ill get the tires put in for cheaper than cheap.
daym i had something to ask but i forgot what it was....
shorty antena is awesome! but i had to cut the ping and sand it down smooth to get it to sit flush. i may look into another one since this one kinda gave me trouble with upstate radio stations but i listen to cds or ipod most of time anyways.
i bought the one from ebay supplied from a fellow member on here. does anyone else get weaker signal with it or is it just that im upstate and the city would/will be much better?
btw i took pics of stuff today, when i get a chance ill upload em.
cheers-
scratch that^ i did have problems upsatte with radio freq but as soon as i got within the city (nyc) it was crisp. its a keeper! hah
heres a pic of my wood ash trey i bought off ebay. it was used with a lil wear to it, but it looks news and you can barely see the imperfections. it was actually quite easy to install, a quick pop out and disconnect this and that and bam it was in and instant console upgrade. heres a pic i took after i installed it.
heres a pic of my dash. Some questions...
1- can i make my white faced gauges light up in white at night? is it even possible? (that would look sick, but the green is nice too)
2- is it possible to buy rings that would go around the gauges?
3- is there any other upgrade(s) i can do to the dash?
heres some quick snaps of the jeep from this weekend. the black step up bumper guard looks much better than the stock gray one that comes with the overland. also notice the MEATHEAD who did some dents on my back bumper while parking int he city for 9 months time. (it was mint condition when i bought her in feb- also im buying a new bumper cover with hitch and bezel next year so im not too concerned with the dents. plus when i get the hitch put on ill park the car and put the ball on so they can hit the hitches ball instead of my bumper)
front view. notice the short ant* heheh
bonus pics- my old 88 jeep on the side just doin nothing. but itll still run if you needed it to. my pops has yet to put the plow on it since our Doge ram charger is still kicking but no breaks! yikes straight reverse'ing that shit- hahha. its a 1979- we dont care*
my beater 89 wagoneer for parts for my old 88 cherokee.
i have converged.... i traded in my 04 overland for a 2010 SRT8* last night.
i love/loved my overland but i have been itching to pick up the srt8 for yrs now. i finally grew the balls to buy one. and since i re-registered upstate my insurance is only 158 a month. SRT8 in nyc wouldve cost me an arm and a leg- the only reason why i never pulled the trigger on purchasing it until i switched my address to upstate ny instead of nyc. lucky to have my pops living upstate*
