Depending on how long you still want to keep the jeep, you could decide to put a new white receptacle solenoid block in. How many miles do you have on it now? It can stay working for a long time still, but it would be a pitty to open it all up again if the solenoids start failing.
I got the solenoid rebuild kit from Automotive Transmission Electronics Specialists
It is not shown on the site, but just ask them about it. They also sell the solenoid block seal plate. I bought them for my white receptacle block, so confirm with them that it will work on your black receptacle block. For sure the seal plate is different for both blocks and not interchangeable. The blocks themselves are interchangeable though.

Re: Help - '02 WJ Overland w/545RFE trany issues

Hi again,

I will be keeping the Jeep for the rest of my life - hope to be 30 or more years
but who ever knows. Purchased it new in November 2001, it's been the best Jeep I have ever had. Had 20 or so Jeeps (MB, CJ, Etc....) over the years started with a 1942 Willy's MB Flat Head four with a military snorkel kit, should have kept that one and enjoyed them all. This 2002 WJ Overland has 85K miles with no body damage and runs great

Purchased a new OEM white solenoid pack a few hours ago - $250 how can I go wrong? The TRS plate will be replaced along with the old Black Pack

Still trying to find where the broken spring part came from

I think that it was a wise decision to buy a new solenoid pack.
You most probably will not find where the broken piece came from, without opening up the transmission. There are not that many springs in there, i think that i did mention all of them before.

The tranny is on it's way out of the Jeep
Looks as if one of your suggestions is correct
The Top Pump Valve spring
Cut the paper filter apart and found loads of stuff inside

Sure hope to keep the damage to limited

The transgo shiftkit comes with several of the springs from the pump. Wondering which spring from the pump came out in pieces, without causing any shift problems.

Re: Help - '02 WJ Overland w/545RFE trany issues

FIXED

The top of the pump TCC Clutch Valve Spring was broken and the "V" Notch bracket holding it in was bent which allowed the broken part to escape. The broken piece exactly matched up to the remaining spring.

When that valve goes bad the symptoms include a small rpm up/down change (easily seen on the tack) at highway speeds due to the TC locking and unlocking. I do not recall if mine showed that symptom or not.

Transgo kit included all needed parts
