Re: Hi from Wales - UK

Well done, hope it gives you trouble free motoring. Ive had my 2004 2.7crd for almost 1 year and 7000 miles and its been almost faultless.
But when I bought it I had the dealer do a little service + brake disc's/pads etc. Then I had my mechanic do all the fluids (diffs and tranfer case etc) so I started with a clean sheet.
The only minor fault was the thermostat needed replacing, and my heater doors sometimes "stick", but by adjusting the temp up/down they free off again.
Just doing my first upgrade, Addco rear sway bar for a less wobbly ride !
Over here in the UK these jeeps are fantastc value compared to the European offerings, and most important, its a real JEEP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Hi from Wales - UK

Cheers folks!!!
The blend doors have already had the upgrade kit fitted so that's one problem which shouldn't be coming my way!!
The good thing is that a personal friend who owns the local garage I use used to work in a Jeep garage and knows his way around it so I'm well happy.
Regards
Paul.

Looks good. Unless you want to spend a fortune on the thing spend time on here carefully.

Re: Hi from Wales - UK

And the mrs gets to keep her Golf - what a tw#t!!!!!
It's a real nice bus, it's only the 1.9TD but it's so damn simple and you can throw veggie oil straight into it but it'll smell like a chip van.
Real shame but it's impractical with a very young family.
Anyway - back to the GC, I think it's got to be the wheels first so I'll take some piccies and photoshop them in black etc to see what looks nice on it.
Absolutely love the grunt these babies have. Might treat my 3 year old to a bit of off road this weekend.
I've got to read about using the lo gears though. Does it lock the diffs as well or just a low ratio 4WD?
Cheers
Paul.

Re: Hi from Wales - UK

I don't think it does lock the diff, I'm not sure though. I know I have to add LSD additive to my diff fluid.

My only real off road experience is with the good old convertible green rovers courtesy of the MOD

Re: Hi from Wales - UK

Nice one, always better to trash someone else's kit before yours

I'm crapping it as the mrs wants to use it tomorrow so I'm back in the van. She has very limited mechanical sympathy so I may be on here in tears tomorrow

Anyways, happy days and 'nos da'.
Regards all.
Paul.

When you have a Quadra Drive jeep, it will have Vari-Lock differentials and they lock automatically with speed differential between wheels on one axle. When you use 4Lo, the T-case will lock the front propeller shaft and the rear propeller shaft together, not to be used on paved roads.
Does the jeep have the T-case with 3 positions, 4 All time, N(eutral) and 4Lo?
