How Easy are WJ's to Fix?

Hey everyone, I'm possibly looking at getting a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Can anyone tell me how this model compares to other years--and other vehicles--in terms of how easy it is to work on? Thanks.

There is no or not much difference between the WJ model years. I donīt think they are too difficult to work on, but they can have their issues.

Re: How Easy are WJ's to Fix?

Each platform has their quirks and the WJ is no different. As someone who has been working on cars for over 30+ years, the WJ is no different than any other modern car. Searching forums/internet is a great resource along with a code reader/key dance for reading codes displayed on the odometer. Know the problem areas and purchase carefully just like any other used cars. At this point, I would be looking towards a 2003 or 2004 since some of the major quirks of the WJ were ironed out.
