Here is the spec sheet on the fluid I used: http://www.valvoline.com/pdf/valvoline_psf.pdf
I agree here.. I topped off with regular fluid a few months back and started having overheating occasionally (wasn't even all the time) I flushed and filled with this stuff about 2 months ago and I've been golden since.. Running and working perfectly..Btw, I only found this fluid in Advance auto store around me.

Re: Hydraulic Fan SUPER Loud

Tegusta,

Did you ever figure this out?

I had to put in a new radiator last weekend, and mine has been doing the same thing ever since.

Only when A/C is on though, like yours.

Is your AC Compressor kicking on? Mine is not....and I believe that is why it is causing the fan to run so high.

Any thoughts anybody? Could I just have bad luck and the AC compressor or Clutch go bad at the same time? It was working prior to the radiator change, and I looked everywhere to make sure I didn't miss an electrical connection, but I could have missed something.

Was the AC system charged after the radiator change? A too high pressure will let the PCM send a high speed signal to the fan solenoid when AC is switched on and the compressor will be switched off. For the AC system only the system pressure is used to regulate the hydraulic cooling fan speed.

Re: Hydraulic Fan SUPER Loud

No it wasn't charged. I did not unhook any AC lines. It was when I was trying to charge it that I realized it wasn't taking any and the clutch was not activating.

Re: Hydraulic Fan SUPER Loud

You where trying to charge it, so how do you know it didnīt take any charge? With a too low precharge and a too high precharge the compressor clutch will not be activated. But with a too low precharge the fan should not run any faster then the idle speed.

Re: Hydraulic Fan SUPER Loud

I vacuumed out the AC refrigerant and charged it with the exact amount of 1.75lb of new refrigerant. Everything is working perfect. Thank you guys for all your help!!

So did you over charge the AC system the first time and that caused the Hydraulic fan to go into warp drive and once you correct the AC charge, the fan now works correctly?

Just so people will learn something from this.
