Lightbulb Ignition cylinder and key swap

FNG here, looking to swap current key and ignition cylinder for key-less model found on 08 WJ. Any insight on the madness, which may be caused by this idea. Has this been done? Easier solutions? Am I just talking to myself? The main reason I ponder on this project is the all-in-one key and proximity features, that and I am tired of jabbing myself in the thigh or cheek every time I sit down.

Re: Ignition cylinder and key swap

I don't believe it would work. I would think you would need a complete new security system to run the '08. Plus I don't think the ignition will work with your PCM.
