Is this a safe option?

I am moving from Colorado to Texas soon and I'm looking for the most affordable way to transport my 1980 F100. Is it safe to tow it behind my WJ with an adjustable tow bar VVVV Like this one? Suggesting I get rid of the truck is not an option. The specs: 4.7L V8 Laredo w/tow package.

What about a front wheel dolly that UHaul uses? If you do use that, the front wheels can still have a mind of their own unless someone is going to be steering in that truck.

Re: Is this a safe option?

Uhaul says that the combo is "not recommended" and will only let me use a full trailer for almost $800.00. I've seen Wranglers being towed with the adjustable dolly's and wondered to myself, why not? So you think this is a bad idea for a 1,300 mile trip?

WTH are they talking about? The combo is "not recommended"? I'm confused here am I missing something? I see no reason why you couldn't use a dolly, just make sure you remove the driveline first assuming it is a 2wd truck.
