so i have never had to jack up the jeep on all four corners till this weekend. i have two 6 ton jacks i plan to put under the rear axle and four 3 ton jacks i plan to put under or near the frontal jack point areas on the lower rockers.
My question is what is the best point i should use as a jacking point for the floor jack? In the past i used the jack points under the triangle symbols on the rockers. i also do have the bottle jack that came with the car.should i used both and do one end at a time by using the triangles as jack points?

I jacked my jeep on all 4 sides when i needed to remove the transmission. You can easily jack one side and then the other, no danger of tipping over. I used tripods to keep it as safe as possible. You could in principle put a jack at any place under the frame rails to lift it up. You must be very carefull in putting a jack under the axles and especially not under the pumpking or the axle tubes.

I have to ask why you need to be so careful when putting a jack under the axles? I've heard several people say this before but I've been jacking up vehicles from the axle tubes and pumpkin my whole life. Is this a concern for damaging something or worry about the vehicle slipping off the jack?

Every time I jack up my Jeep it's from the front/rear axle if it's not suspension work. Then I place the jack stands as close to the wheels as possible. If I'm doing suspension work then I'll still jack from the axles and then put the stands under the subframe.

i did one side at a time and used the jack points under the triangles for the jack locations using plywood squares as a cusion. i also cut up some heavy cloth reinforced rubber tubing slit sideways as non slip insurance over the jack heads. i used the side ends of the tranny brace as the point to lift via the floorjack. worked perfectly.

When jacking by the frame I have always used the cross member that is under the transfer case, I figure thats a pretty strong point. The reason you are not supposed to jack from under the differential or the axle tube is because on most/all WJ's they are made of aluminum, which could bend under the weight of the vehicle being applied from a point it wasn't designed to.
