JGC Headlight Haze Solution?

I have a 2000 JGC Laredo and the headlight lenses are awful. I have considered replacing them with aftermarket assemblies, but they are kinda pricey. I have used the restoration kits, which seem to help for a little while.

A friend of mine has a 2002 JGC and her lenses are immaculate. She says she took it to Sams Club and they restored her lenses for $35. They look great and they also warranty the work for 3 years, so she takes her Jeep back every couple of years to get a 'touch up' free of charge.

I am gonna give this a try!

Re: JGC Headlight Haze Solution?

Would be interesting to know what they use to make/keep the lenses clear again. I have used the Meguiars restoration kit, but it didnīt become as new. Maybe I have just too much pitting on my lenses.

I used that same stuff, with the buffer wheel. It works fine for a little while, but it's back to the same ol same ol after a month or so.

I read an old post that said that Sam's Club uses UV activated clear coat and a UV light. They said the process takes about 90 min. Not sure about the info though.

Re: JGC Headlight Haze Solution?

Exactly.

Once you clean your headlamps you need to
A wax them very frequently.
B apply a body shop grade clear coat
C apply UV protection.

As just cleaning them and not sealing will yield same shit results in short time

Re: JGC Headlight Haze Solution?

You can find aftermarket lights for a decent price, like in the above post. Depends where you look and what style you like.

Re: JGC Headlight Haze Solution?

I went the restoration route a year ago and the results surprised me. A year later though and the lights were looking a bit rough.

I decided to buy a new pair of lights off ebay. $70ish and definitely look better than what the restoration results were.
