I have an 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Recently, have just stopped for no reason. This has happened when I stop at a light, etc. I'm trying to break down what it could be. I'm thinking fuel pump, or sparks. Battery terminals all good. Some help is needed.
Which engine? You can check for fuel under pressure at the fuel rail. Just press the schrader valve and see if fuel under pressure comes out.
Did you check for any fault code set? Can be a problem with the idle control. The stepper motor plunjer is known to get dirty and cause rough/ low idle.
Crank position sensor is also well known to cause problems, but normally not only at idle.

I have a 4.0, 6 cyl. I will have to check some of that out. I figured it might be the fuel pump. Or, maybe my spark plugs. The vehicle doesn't have the power that it used to. And, when I'm driving. It will actually due like a hick-up. So, I figured that it might be a pressure problem.
on zj/xj the solders in the pcm board would become unsoldered. to check those models, push and pull on the connectors. you are actually trying to compress and decompress the connections on the pcm. they desolder inside the box. i know this may not apply, but doing this helped me find the ghosts and i didn't pull all my hair out.
