Exclamation New to your World. Please help

I just bought a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7 Quadradrive. It is everything I immagined, well almost. I imagined it slightly taller with some bigger tires and a nice set of springs under it. As my thread says I am new to the world of jeeps and I want to do things right. I am 90% certain I am going to buy the IRO 3" lift. It seems like a good kit at a good price that delivers the right height. However everytime I go to order it I start salivating at the slightly taller and slightly more expensive 4" kit. I guess my question is.... If the IRO 4" kit doesn't come with any control arms and every other cheaper 4" kit (rough country/Zone/Rusty's/BDS) does. Am I going to have to buy some to add to the lift or is the Jeep going to ride ok without them? Does anyone have any of these lifts? Of course I am on a budget, but I have some money to play with. I just don't want to get in over my head. I am worried that if I go with the 4" kit I will then spend another $1500.00 trying to make it right. What am I going to have to add to the IRO 4" kit if anything? Any help/advice is very much appreciated. Thank you.

With 4" on short arms, you're really close to the edge. Your control arms are extending as far as their little hearts will go and your angles will be off. As such, the ride quality will suffer; sometimes severely. Some people love theirs and stick by it, some wish they had gotten long arms. Ultimately it's up to you, but if you really don't want to worry about problems, I'd stick with 3".

Thanks for the advice. I think I will do just that. go with the IRO 3". I just keep thinking that if I go with the 4" and add some adjustable CA's, and a A-Arm spacer that I will be just fine until I can afford to go long arm. What do you think? It just seems like if I go 3" I should get some control Arms anyhow, I don't see how stock arms can be suitable.
