Looking at purchasing an '04 WJ and would like input on the capability of this as an off-road project that is also street civilized.

Re: Newbie Question

Oh I think you'll be more than happy with it. Think of it as a luxury SUV with a Wrangler suspension underneath. Just research your off road parts carefully. My advice is to stay 2.5" of lift or below on the factory control arms. If you want to go higher spring for a long arm setup.

Re: Newbie Question

I would say V8, with almost the same gas milage, you have much more power available and a 5 speed transmission. Also when you want to do some ofroading, quadra drive would be my choise, it can transfer all the power to one wheel only, when all other three wheels would be spinning. Quadra drive is an option only with the V8 when im not wrong.

How much is an '04 Limited with the 4.7 worth and 119k miles worth? Dealer has one he is getting ready to send to auction.

Re: Newbie Question

Depends where your located but in San Diego, a 04' 4.7 with 119k miles sells for about 7.5 from a dealer and about 5-6 for private.
