Oil Pan Rubber Gasket sliding out..

so i just noticed this today my oil pan is leaking a bit due to this rubber gasket well it think it is. Here is a picture of how it looks down there.. looks like its hitting or rubbing against the timing belt? I don't see anything wrong with my oil pan if i were to take it to a repair shop will they just replace the pice sliding out? Thanks Guys

Re: Oil Pan Rubber Gasket sliding out..

Get the whole sump gasket replaced it's one piece all the way around
From that pic angle I think that's the 6cyl motor, I believe that's from over a tighten sump bolts. If it's the V8 I have recently rebuilt mine and my sump gasket has and was a metal gasket wrapped in plastic (only way I know how to describe).

Re: Oil Pan Rubber Gasket sliding out..

The seal is indeed a silicone coated steel backbone design. For some reason the silicone got loose from the steel backbone and the whole seal has to be changed.
Attached the procedures for if you want to do this yourself, however its just a bit more then just removing the pan and change the seal.
