Oil sending unit

Can reset computer runs fine for about 45 minutes then throws oil sending unit code P0523. The sending unit is obviously bad(no gauge reading) but would that cause my jeep to miss? 00' 4.7

Re: Oil sending unit

A bad oil pressure sending unit will not cause the engine to miss normally. Do you have misfire codes?
But the sensor uses a 5V signal from the PCM, so if it has an internal short, it maybe can influence other sensors which also use the 5V. I would first change the sensor and see what happens.
