Re: Over drive was off.....

just got the call from the dealership. my jeep is ready. have not got any details since im at work. but they said they didnt find anything wrong with it- kinda not surprised though. i left it at a upstate dealership (the one i trust) so ill have to wait until friday to pick it up. (cant take off work to get there by 5pm) so only time will tell. they told me they also rebalanced my wheels and lubed up some hot spot. i had lost on set of keys for the car a while ago so i had them make me 2 extra keys (2 keys =160) my total bill is 260 with my 100 deductible.

happy for now. lets see....

Re: Over drive was off.....

picked up my baby from the dealer.

all i got to say is YES!

shes back to normal, i feel like an idiot but my wheels were out of balance. why i dismissed it soo much as an option was it only started to shake at 80. any speed up to 75-80 it was totally smooth though* for some reason i was under the impression if i needed my wheels balanced then it would start to shake at lower speeds than just 80. again my old 96 ZJ needed balancing once but it shook at low speeds like 45, we can forget about anything above that when it needed balancing. again i feel like an idiot. i guess the good news from all this is they didnt find anything wrong with my transmission or engine wise. infact the guy i know there said "you dont see too many 04's with that low of a milage in our shop or at all for that matter" hes a good people so he told me he tweaked some things and also checked around but couldnt find anything. but i told him when i dropped it off that my pedal is not stiff like it use to be, it just whomps soo easily now- he brought it back to how it was when i first drove it off the jeep lot. i dunno how he did it but i like it stiff, and not for nothing but it **TRULY RUNS BETTER**

anyways being happy right now is an understatement.

cheers for all the help support and ideas. appreciated it.

Re: Over drive was off.....

Well I'm glad that is was something as simple has a wheels rebalance that made the problem go away. Usually if a wheel needs to be balanced it'll shake worse the faster you go.

Glad that you have you Jeep back and that its running great again!

Re: Over drive was off.....

So glad you got the problem sorted and it wasn't the engine/tranny after all! Sounds like you've got a nice dealership too which is always good.
