Rock rails on my wife's 04' overland have some rust spots showing off after the last winter. I am not sure if painting or powder coating is better option.
I was also thinking of cleaning and fixing all rusted spots and plasti dip them after. Any suggestions?
Mine are starting to rust also. I'm gonna have them sprayed with bedliner. Not sure yet about the end caps though. I might leave em grey. Still up in the air on that one.
Make sure you get rid of the rust before you paint them or they'll rust from the inside out. When I got my Jeep it has some side steps that the previous owner painted over the rust w/ bed liner. One day I stepped on the step and they snapped in half. The bed liner covered up the rust and made them look good, but it eventually rusted through.
Thanks guys! I will take a look on the bedliner paint. My Jeep is silver and I like rails and cover in dark gray. Rust is just on the surface for now that's why I want to fix it sooner.
