Does running 4-all-time on Quadra Drive hurt gas mileage? should i run 2wd around the city?

Re: QuadraDrive

As far as i know you donīt have the option of 4x2 when you have quadra drive.
Quadra drive and quadra trac jeeps both use the NV247 transfer case. This transfer case has a progressive coupling, which will transfer the torque from the rear wheels partly to the front wheels, in case of a speed difference between front and rear propeller shaft. Normally almost all torque is going to the rear wheels, so you are then almost 4x2. There is nothing you can do (besides removing the front propeller shaft) to make it full 4x2.

Re: QuadraDrive

What kind of mileage are you getting? I have a qudratrac and a 4.0 and I'm getting in the low 20's on the highway at 70. Have you changed fuel filter? (Non Autozone) and upgraded Bosch 4-hole injectors?

I think the jeep 4x4 system is totally pimp, seeing as how it is capable of 4x4 and 4x2 on-demand. Not many systems can operate like that.
