Re: Rear upper A arm bushings

Ok the kit has been ordered ,hope to have it tomorrow or failing that early next week. I will take some photos of it once it arrives.
I was prompted into looking into this after fitting new bushes to mine while refitting the new diff. Just having the diff hanging down on a 2 post hoist caused them to tear before they had even had wheels fitted....the rugged ridge/omix ones of corse.....not happy to say the least...surely thats a record....zero miles.

Cheers

The omix bushings are really crap, they lasted less then 1000 km on my jeep. I have the Dormans now and they are holding up pretty well.

Waiting to see how this turns out for you. Am at the point of either going thru the suspension to firm things or consider a trade as my wife is wanting a different set of wheels...

Re: Rear upper A arm bushings

I can attest to new rear upper A arm bushings helping the ride quality...mine have been a big improvement, but then again, the old ones were completely bombed. I was under there over the weekend doing some undercarriage painting and actually removed the 2 long bolts that hold it in and cocked the whole assembly to the side so I can get a good look at the Raybestos ones I installed and modified, and so far, so good. Hasn't been very long though.

Re: Rear upper A arm bushings

Thanks for the tips. I will be going with either the Ray/Dor bushings or just get the IRO arm when I end up doing mine.

Re: Rear upper A arm bushings

The IRO piece is definitely the way to go if you're lifted....I even considered buying it, cutting it to match the OE length, and having it welded back together, but it was WAY easier to buy a few bushings and compare them.
