Scratched roof covered in rust spots (small dots but a lot) wanting to rhino line my roof thinking it will add some visual dynamics. Should I rustoleum the rust spots then rhino line ?

Re: Roof Help!!!!!

I'm starting to have the same issue, I would rustoleum the spots, better safe than sorry since you're just covering them up.

Re: Roof Help!!!!!

I would use a rusty metal primer. Will neutralize the rust more so than normal paint, then rhino line it.

Re: Roof Help!!!!!

If you're going to paint the roof then I would sand out the rust spots, lay some primer to keep it from coming back, and then rhino line it.

Rustoleum will slow down rust, but it won't stop it and it will eventually become a big rust spot under the rhino lining. If it's going to be covered with rhino lining, it doesn't hurt to sand the rust out to remove it.

Re: Roof Help!!!!!

Definitely wouldn't paint over rust. It's just going to to get worse and destroy the entire roof and paint. Like someone else said, sand it down till the rust is gone then paint. It'll last much longer.
