Say it ain't so!

Well guys...it happened. I accidentally sold my WJ. Yeah, you read that correctly.

I was innocently at Chipotle on Monday. As I'm walking out with my lunch, 4 dudes are salivating near my Jeep. I heard the one guy commenting on the wheels, and that he had never seen a WJ that clean. As they walked up and I was walking out, I told the guy he could buy it. He jumped on my first number and is coming Wednesday to pick it up.

Wednesday will be a sad, sad day.

Now I've got my sights set on a JKU. 2012 or better. We'll see what happens.

You know what life lesson I learned from all of this? Wanna sell your ride? Go to Chipotle.

Re: Say it ain't so!

From all the things happening or not happening on here, this was the last thing i would have expected to be happening.
Tony selling his jeep was as the pope selling his church, it just simply couldn´t happen.
Tony selling his baby, you would not even think about it, hell would freeze over before that would happen. And now this................................ What a sad, sad day.
It will be getting quiet here on the WJ forum.
Good luck with the JKU adventure Tony, hop by overhere once in a while.

Re: Say it ain't so!

Yeah, I wasn't in the market to sell it...it just happened! Craziness.

I'm soaking in the last few days of that HO power before it's gone forever. I will be poking my head in here regularly though...and send me a PM if there are any questions you think I can help with!

It was a tough decision between JKU and WK2, and honestly, a WK2 is still not out of the question. A JKU with options (Freedom Edition, Sahara, etc.) is the perfect blend of my last 3 rides. The fun and "convertability" of the Wrangler, the utility of the XJ, and the comfort and amenities of the WJ. If I end up with a Sport, I'll probably be adding some creature comforts along the way. I can take the top off and the back seat out and essentially have a pickup. I can close it all up and have a small van, and I can put the back seat in and have a traditional SUV. All bases are covered. There aren't many rides you can do that with. All with summer appeal, and 4WD for the winter. I drove a Freedom Edition yesterday and really liked the drive. It lacks the oomph of the HO, but it had heated seats, it was actually comfortable, and short of NAV, had everything I needed.

Yeah, 125,000 miles! Still runs like a top, but to get good money for it (way more than any dealer would give you) I had no choice! It gets delivered to its new owner in the morning. It'll be my last HO drive. In it's place already sits a 2013 JKU Sahara 4 door with only 14k on the odometer. No pics till I get time to clean it up my way

Dual tops, nav, azz warmers...in a Wrangler? Oh yes.

I can't believe it! Oh well better to let her go in her prime rather than watch age take over. That JKU sounds like a sweet ride!

I've only really driven it for a day and a half now, and I have to say, I love it. It's amazing what the new service intervals are on the newer Jeeps...I won't have anything to do to for 100k on most maintenance items. I'll need the time to keep that black paint looking good.

Hopefully I'll get some time this coming weekend to start the detailing process so I can get some pics up.

Re: Say it ain't so!

Photographic evidence....Finally got some time to get it "presentable". When I bought it, I specifically asked that it NOT be "detailed". All that means is the dealer adds scratches for no extra charge. Also got around to my first mod. I bought a used homelink module and added it to the header panel. I loved not having that stupid clunky clicker in my WJ, and couldn't stand having it in my JKU. It is no more!

Hard to believe this is a Wrangler...this doesn't feel like one. With the nav touch screen, heated seats, remote start, comfortable ride....my TJ didn't even have AC!

Say it ain't so!

Cool story! And I nice replacement Black is so hard to keep clean and scratchless, but when it's clean it's all worth it.

Crazy how the JKU still has the old nav touch screen and the 'old' steering wheel outta the WK2. Don't understand why Chrysler won't update that thing better. Hell the key fob they have hasn't been used by any other Chrysler product since 2007.
