ScanGaugeII on WJ

Since i would like to know how my vehicle is performing and how some parameters are doing during a trip (like transmission temperature for example), i was thinking in buying a ScanGaugeII.
Anyone on here used it on a WJ? Is the transmission temperature available?
Is there maybe something better (in same price range) as the ScanGaugeII?

Save your money Frank. If you have an android phone buy the Torque app from the Play Store for $5 and pick up a bluetooth obd interface. This is the one I have but even the cheapies work on a Mopar just slower. ScanTool.net LLC - OBDLink MX Bluetooth Here's the Torque page. Torque — OBD2 Performance and Diagnostics for your Vehicle This a very powerful, useful and wireless combination. As far as trans temp goes that Mopar pid is very elusive. Most people say it wont work on anything but I've seen a few people on the net managed too somehow. It's not an out of the box thing for a Mopar. You have to create a custom parameter of sorts.

Re: ScanGaugeII on WJ

Hi Dave. Yes, i have the Torque app on my mobile, but it can not show transmission temperature. I was reading experiences from WK guys, who use it on hemi´s with the 5-45RFE and it seems to be working fine. You can program the available PID´s, but i think this is the same for any other vehicle, not just mopar.
I do like torque for live data monitoring, but would like to see the transmission temperature as well.

Did you find the PID for the transmission temperature, which should be inserted into the unit?
